The Department of Management Studies of the Hirachand Nemchand College of Commerce is the leading department dedicated to provide competent managers and entrepreneurs. The institution is engaged in delivering contemporary business education tempered with strong ethical values. The recipe that helps the institution to produce winning managers over the past 30 years, of course, is the academic excellence which focuses on personality development & team orientation which also has been the motto of the institution since its inception in the year 1981. The department offers professional courses like M.B.A., B.B.A. and B.C.A. The department runs M.B.A. course successfully from 1981 and it is known as one of the premier institutes in management education in western Maharashtra. Previously it was affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur and since 2005 with the inception of Solapur University; it got affiliated to Solapur University. B.B.A. and B.C.A. courses were stared since 2005. The Department offers various certification courses affiliated to bodies of national importance like NPTEL, IIT Bombay, NCFM etc.

Prin.Dr.Satyajit K. Shah – M.Com., SET, Ph.D.Experience : 21 years at UG Level and 29 years at PG Level He has a total teaching experience of 21 years at undergraduate and 29 years at postgraduate level. His area of interest is Accountancy, Costing, Taxation. He is a member of the Solapur university examination panel and syllabus committee. He has completed a UGC sponsored research project titled “Investment Decision of Salary Earners and Professionals”. He has completed his Ph.D. from Shri Swami Ramanand Teerth University, Nanded on the topic ‘An Analytical study of Investment Behavior of Individual Investors In Solapur City’. He has also published 17 research papers in International Journals and published a book titled “Dynamics of Investing”. He was awarded the Ideal Teacher Award in 2011 by the Lions Club Solapur. He has worked as Vice President and Secretary of the Jain Social Group Solapur. |

His area of interest is Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour. He is a member of the Solapur university examination panel and syllabus committee. He has completed a UGC sponsored minor research project titled “A Study of Socio Economic Conditions of Bidi Workers in Solapur”. He was awarded a Ph.D. from Shivaji University in 2005 for his research work on “Impact of Privatization on Telecommunication in Maharashtra”. He has also published 9 research papers in International Journals. He was awarded the Ideal Teacher Award in 2018 by the Lions Club Solapur. He is also a member of the National Institute of Personnel Management. |

Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research in association with California State University San Bernadino. She has presented 13 research papers and has published 10 research papers in national and international journals. Her area of interest is Emotional Intelligence, Consumer Behaviour, and Statistics. Bajaj (B.Sc., M.B.A.) – Assistant ProfessorExperience : Teaching: 11 years, Industry: 5 years He has 5 years of industrial experience in Smruthi Organics Ltd., a bulk drug manufacturing, public limited company. He held a Franchisee Centre of Aptech Computer Education as an entrepreneur for a period of 10 years and is a certified Aptech Faculty for more than 15 modules. He joined full-time academics in 2011 to follow his passion for teaching and guiding students on the professional career path. He is pursuing a Ph.D. from SRTMU, Nanded, and his research topic is “A Study on Issues Related to Computerization in Small Enterprises in Solapur City”. He has attended various FDPs in ‘Aptech’ for different modules, ‘FDP in Entrepreneurship’ conducted by MITCON sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology New Delhi, and ‘Use of ICT in Education for Online and Blended Learning‘ conducted by IIT, Mumbai.
